Strawberry Crumble - recipe
Strawberry Crumble
Ingredients:
For the Strawberry Filling:
- 4 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Crumble Topping:
- 1 cup old-fashioned oats
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
Instructions:
Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch baking dish or pie dish.
Prepare the Strawberry Filling:
- In a large bowl, combine the sliced strawberries, granulated sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, and vanilla extract. Mix well until the strawberries are evenly coated.
- Pour the strawberry mixture into the prepared baking dish.
Make the Crumble Topping:
- In a medium bowl, mix together the oats, flour, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and salt.
- Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the strawberry filling.
Bake:
- Bake in the preheated oven for 35-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.
Serve:
- Let the crumble cool slightly before serving. It’s delicious on its own or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
