Grilled Chicken Breast Recipe
Ingredients:
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional)
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
Prepare the Chicken:
- Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels.
- If the breasts are very thick, you may want to pound them to an even thickness to ensure even cooking.
Marinate the Chicken:
- In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, minced garlic, paprika, oregano, thyme, salt, black pepper, and lemon juice.
- Place the chicken breasts in a large zip-top bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the chicken, making sure each breast is well coated.
- Seal the bag or cover the dish and let the chicken marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or up to 8 hours for more flavor.
Preheat the Grill:
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 400°F or 200°C).
- If using a grill pan on the stove, preheat it over medium-high heat.
Grill the Chicken:
- Remove the chicken from the marinade and let any excess drip off.
- Place the chicken breasts on the grill or grill pan. Cook for 6-7 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) and the chicken is no longer pink in the center.
- Avoid pressing down on the chicken with a spatula as this can squeeze out the juices.
Rest and Serve:
- Remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing. This helps retain the juices.
- Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
Tips:
- For Juicier Chicken: Consider brining the chicken breasts in a saltwater solution (1/4 cup salt dissolved in 4 cups water) for 30 minutes before marinating. This helps keep the chicken moist.
- Flavor Variations: You can experiment with different herbs and spices, such as cumin, coriander, or cayenne pepper, to customize the flavor to your liking.
- Serving Suggestions: Serve the grilled chicken breasts with a side of vegetables, a fresh salad, or on top of a bed of rice or quinoa.
