Avocado Bread Recipe
Ingredients:
Dry Ingredients:
- 1 3/4 cups (220g) all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Wet Ingredients:
- 1 large ripe avocado (about 200g), mashed
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup (120ml) vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup (60ml) milk (any type)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions:
Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour a 9x5 inch (23x13 cm) loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
Mix Dry Ingredients:
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Set aside.
Prepare the Avocado Mixture:
- In a large bowl, mash the ripe avocado until smooth.
- Add the eggs, sugar, vegetable oil, milk, vanilla extract, and lemon juice. Mix until well combined.
Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients:
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined. Be careful not to overmix.
Bake:
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cool and Serve:
- Allow the bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Slice and enjoy your avocado bread!
Notes:
- You can add mix-ins like nuts or chocolate chips to the batter if desired.
- This bread can be stored at room temperature for a few days or refrigerated for up to a week.
