20-Minute Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Mix Wet Ingredients: In a medium bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the vanilla extract and egg until well combined.

  3. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.

  4. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.

  5. Shape Cookies: Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

  6. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown. The centers may look slightly underbaked but will set as they cool.

  7. Cool: Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
